What is mindfulness?

“...the awareness that arises from paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment and non-judgementally.

Jon Kabat-Zinn

Mindfulness is paying attention to the present moment, and to our thoughts and our feelings.  It is a way of connecting and gives us the tools to deal with established patterns of behaviour and thought. Mindfulness can help people in different ways and some of the benefits include:

  • Enhanced well-being

  • Reduction in stress

  • Reduction in anxiety

  • Helping to manage life's pressures

  • Increased gratitude

  • Preventing automatic thinking

  • Helping to make good choices

  • Letting go of self-limiting beliefs

  • Helping to get out of your own mind

  • Enjoying life much more
